Hello everyone 🙂  I hope you are all having as wonderful of a weekend as I am.  I got to come home from school for a quick visit with the family 🙂  I also got a pedicure in honor of spring approaching with my mom and sister so it was a win win!  Anyways, back to food….

Being a picky eater, one of the things that I don’t care for is meat.  I just don’t like the taste or texture of it.  Therefore, it has always been hard for me to get an adequate amount of protein.  That is until I discovered Edamame!  It is a great snack with a good amount of protein!  A 1 1/8 cup of Edamame (still in the pods) has:

  • 11 g protein
  • 120 calories
  • 9 g fiber
  • 2.5 g fat
  • 13 g carbohydrate
  • 15 mg sodium

This would be a great thing to add to your list of healthy but quick snack options!  It only takes about 5 minutes to make on the stove and then you can also buy convenient microwave packages!  Give it a try and let me know what you think!

    Thank you for the new knowledge that edamame are a great protein source. I also do not like to eat meat and protein is a challenge to find as a source I like to eat. Great post!
